Between Wednesday 5 and Sunday 9 September, self-funded artists with a variety of creative skills will be in Horsham’s Swan Walk showcasing their work including wildlife sculptures, glass artworks, freestanding sculptures and paintings.
Throughout their time at Swan Walk, the four artists who will be based next to The Body Shop, will not only be displaying their finished work, but will also be demonstrating their skills to shoppers.
The local artists will include Brenda Finch who specialises in bird and animal sculptures made from clay and Angela Jenkinson whose skills are in fused, glass artworks including small dishes, panels and jewellery. Sculpture artist, Lesley Taylor will also be at Swan Walk exhibiting her striking white statues, which she adds her own to touch to with a splash of coloured paint, as well as Jo Willis who has a love for painting contemporary landscapes.
Gill Buchanan, Centre Manager at Swan Walk, said she is delighted to be welcoming the Partners in Art exhibition back to the centre. “Over the years we have seen some brilliant work come into Swan Walk with the annual exhibition, and 2018 is going to be just as fantastic.
“The Partners in Art scheme is all about local people and it’s amazing to see how many talented individuals we have in and around Horsham,” she said. “Throughout the showcase, shoppers can stop by and see the artist’s work as well as watch their demonstrations and chat with the creators about the pieces.
“We look forward to seeing Brenda, Angela, Lesley and Jo’s exhibition pieces and we hope our shoppers enjoy the pop-up gallery.”
